Each platform is scored out of 10 across those factors, then weighted with legality and fees counting most for US readers. A platform that isn't legally available to US traders can't top a US ranking, however good its product — which is why some well-built international platforms don't appear in our main table.
This sector moves fast: fees change, platforms enter and exit states, and court rulings land regularly. Every review and legality page carries a "last updated" date, and we reassess as things change. If you spot something out of date, tell us.
